John Chute, MD

Scientific Advisory Board

Dr. Chute is a physician-scientist who studies blood-forming stem cells. He was a Professor of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Radiation Oncology; Director, Outpatient Stem Cell Transplantation Program at the University of California, Los Angeles until the fall of 2020, when the internationally recognized hematologist was selected to direct the Division of Hematology and Cellular Therapy in the Department of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Cancer. He also serves as the director of the Center for Myelodysplastic Diseases Research and associate director of the Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. He earned a medical degree from Georgetown University and completed his residency and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the National Naval Medical Center/ the National Cancer Institute.
